Welcome back Aggies!
I'm sure you all know that tonight is the first football game! I'm sitting here with our new ambassador Chris and he's pretty confident that this year's team will be a little more successful than it has in the past. Chris is a devout football fan- attending every NMSU football game and always hopeful for the Aggies. He's thinking this might be the season where the Aggies turn for the better. Nevertheless, the games are always fun "Whether we win or lose".
As the semester gets rolling and professors actually start assigning homework and projects, it always hits me like a big wave of stress. It's important to get into the swing of things right off the bat so it makes that adjustment a little more easier. Most Aggies want to get out to parties and social events whenever they can to meet new people and make friends. But now that the semester is just about in full swing I highly suggest that everyone sets up their priorities and remembers the main reason for coming to college. Work hard, then reward yourself. It's the best advice I can give to a new Aggies trying to figure out how to balance their new college life.
Well that's it for today. Hope to see you all at the first game!

Seasons change and so do we....
Driving in to work today, the radio weather report announced a whappin' 90 degree forecast for the entire week. Living in Cruces, this should not have been a big surprise to me but it felt like summer crept up overnight. Summer time is one of the greatest times of the year for many many many reasons! It is a time of freedom, hot days by the pool or lake, long nights with your summer fling, and the greatest of alll.... fresh juicy WATERMELON!! Staying up all night has no consequence because every opportunity for fun must be taken; that is the ONLY rule of summer. Like I said, summertime is one of the most liberating times for me and everytime it comes around I want to be laying in a meadow, drinking lemonade with Liam Hemsworth, without a care in the world......(A girl can dream right?lol)
Thinking about how fast the seasons come and go also made me think about how fast life has gone by. For many of us, day to day life seems to drag on (trust me I know), but somedays I wake up and freak out thinking that I am about to start my senior year of college!!! The thing that freaks me out even more is how much I have changed just in five years.
Five years ago would have made me 15, a sophmore in high school. The year i ditched more geometry classes than I attended, had the relationship duration of Kim Kardashian, got my driver's license, and gave my mama more gray hairs than she wanted. But hey, that's what all teenage girls were doin.... Despite all of the fun I was having I did have a few goals lol. I wanted to be an aneastisiologist, run for Miss Rodeo America, and move as far away from New Mexico as possible. Those were the most important things in my life at that time and I knew that was exactly how my life was going to turn out.
HaHa, literally none of those things have become true or even closely similar. I am going to be a teacher in three semesters, and consider yourself lucky because I can barely convert inches to feet so I'm probably not the gal' you want administering high powered narcotics.... Miss Rodeo America is the last woman I want to be on this earth at this particular moment. Number one, I have really lost my touch of holding a fake smile for over 30 seconds. Number two, I don't run barrels or rodeo now, instead I show Stock Horses, so kinda defeats the purpose of running for MRA. Lastly, I am still here in New Mexico and have planned to stay here and teach. After taking a natural hazards class about earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, etc. I have come to the conculsion that despite the drought and tumbleweeds, this is the safest place your gonna get. Some would say that I gave up on my dreams, but I say that dreams change, just like the seasons and just like me.........
Peace & Blessings

Peace. Love and Lol from the Pinoy!
Hey Fellow Aggies!
As always, there are a lot things going through my head. As paranoid as I am or get, I try to think that its just me overreacting. Nonetheless, it happens. There are some things in life where you push on and just grind through it because you know what lies at the end. A good example is graduation- which took me almost 6 years and I am pretty sure it is safe to say that I have 3 weeks left of undergrad life. It's been a roller coaster of a semester and a challenge dealing with "senioritis" the whole time. Carley was right about "the feeling of potential relief that the semester will end soon is actually dwindling. " But I may have to add about my nervousness of the event.
So what’s going on? Well I am expecting to march with a diploma and a big invisible “officially unemployed” sign on my head but there are reasons for that (travel, a little break and time to prep for grad school). So, no fret, unemployment is just temporary. And I have a ton of plans that I will fight for, for it to push through. This won't be the last time "y'all" here from me.
It has been awhile since I last blogged, nonetheless, it is always great when given the opportunity. On the other hand, this may be the last time. So this should be good, right? In all honesty this was always fun and a pleasure to do. Meeting and touring people was always an adventure. And I can't forget the people in the office! So, a quick update since New Student Registration is coming up and I am hoping upcoming Aggies will read this and I am pretty sure you guys want to be highly involved! I would highly recommend being an Ambassador. No regrets whatsoever. So for the current Aggies, hang in! Summer is near! And for the upcoming ones, we cannot wait to have you guys!
Anyways, its been a pleasure!
Go Aggies!

Hello Fellow Aggies,
So as I approach the end of the semester, the feeling of potential relief that the semester will end soon is actually dwindling. After my last final I will be faced with an apartment to pack up, numerous bins of stuff to take to storage, speedrace home to New York for a week to face a family tugging me in every direction and then speedrace back to New Mexico to begin my internship with Yates Petroleum in Artesia, NM. Can't say I'm thrilled for the semester to end.
However, at this point I'm ready for new classes, new professors and news faces. I look forward to what next semester brings.
I never thought I would ever being working for an oil company. Starting out as an Environmental Science major and now doubling in Civil Engineering with a focus in Environmental Engineering doesn't seem like I would be the poster child for an oil company.
Thankfully my internship will place me in the environmental department of the company. I am relieved by this! I will focus in environmental reclamation and environmental impacts of land through the oil extraction process. I figure that oil use is not coming to an end any time soon and I might as well work for the better of it and learn how to ensure that the oil industry causes as little damage as possible while being extracted from the earth. I look forward to what kind of opportunities arise from this and the experience I will gain. Wish me luck!

Advice to my High School Self
I have felt really nostalgic for some reason. I have been looking at pictures from high school, listening to music from my old ipod (does anyone remember My Chemical Romance?), remembering old friends and I might even consider resurrecting my Myspace page (NOT). I think it's the weather or stress or maybe the fact that my brother is getting ready to enter high school. Whatever it is, I am thinking about all of the things I have learned since I have been in college. I am a huge advocate for personal growth. It boosts my self esteem, makes me feel more mature and I can look back and think "If only I knew, you can't stick a fork into the toaster to retrieve toast". I have compiled a list of all of the things I have learned in three years, I'm a pretty seasoned "life veteran", obviously.
1. Boys mature slower than girls do--Boy would this tidbit of advice saved me quite a bit of trouble (No pun intended). I think my Mom might have told me this a few times (but of course I didn't listen because, I was a mature high schooler, duh). I'm going to go ahead and say it. High school relationships are a joke. Guy friends are so much cooler and boys get better looking with time (Justin Bieber or James Franco?) so all of you high school girls out there-- remember that. Also, high school boys don't have jobs so its not like they can even buy you cool things. Bottom line, don't waste your time with high school boys. Platonic relationships are so in.
2. Student Council/ Sports/ Prom aren't everything- I will be the first to admit, in high school I was totally involved in everything, which is admirable but the color of tulle that was picked the decorate the gym for prom ,the class song or even a silly tennis match are not the most important things in the world. I remember being so stressed out my senior year about the class song and class flower and thinking how ugly and terrible looking a Stargazer Lily was. But that doesn't matter right now and it didn't matter then. Just relax, because I can guarantee that when I'm forty my fondest memories of high school are not going to be the prom decorations.
3. Enjoy not having any responsibilties- I think I did a pretty good job at doing this, my Mom did my laundry, I never had a job, I procrastinated and I was lazy. That's what high school should be about, because once you get to college, you can't not do things. You have to pay bills, work, do massive amounts of homework, take care of yourself etc. I miss the days of coming home and not having to worry about anything :)
4. Parents are not embarrassing-- I know that everyone goes through this in high school! From the time I was 5 until I was 15, I was periodically dropped off at school in a cop car. Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions, my Dad was a cop and would have to drop me off every so often. It was the most embarrassing thing in the whole wide world. I couldn't wait to get out of the car and I would always suggest that he park a few blocks away ( which he totally didn't, then proceeded to threaten to turn the sirens on--hilarious). But I miss those car rides with my parents, their support at all school related events and not being able to drive and what I thought was embarrassing just showed me that they cared. Sometimes in college you need your parents, because they are the only people who truley have your best interest in mind.
5. There will always be drama in life-- You may think that only in high school people are not as mature, accepting and cultured. There will always be those people in life and it may hurt your feelings that so and so called you ugly or so and so talked about you behind your back, but accept it because that's how so and so will always be. Save yourself some trouble and surround yourself with like-minded people and open people. Life gives you those choices.
6. Stop waiting for high school to be over-- High school is going to end, I promise. High school is really cool because it is such a collective environment. College really is not like that because everyone is on such different tracks. I miss being able to just be with friends all of the time and not have to worry about anything other than having fun. You can laugh with friends during class, have people to eat with during lunch and just make some awesome memories.
If I could go back in time I would not change a thing and I look forward being 30 and thinking about how silly I was when I was 20 :)

True American Heroes
I was reading an article on the internet last night about a true American hero, a Soldier in the US Army. He had been serving our country in the middle east when his team came under fire. The brave soldier saw a grenade land near his brothers, he threw himself on it to protect their lives.
Later at Walter Reed Medical Center the doctors told him he would be able to keep his legs but it would take months of rehab to get use of them again. The brave young man said to the doctors "cut these legs off so I can go and fight with my brothers again as soon as I can."
Our rights and freedoms are protected by some of the bravest men and women this world knows. These are who we honor during the national anthem. I ask all of you to stand and remember them next time you hear our song.
Always an Aggie,

Dream More, Do More
Many people argue about how one voice cannot make a difference, I have a story which proves otherwise. We must always remember to stick to our beliefs, speak about the truth, and never give up.
John Quincy Adams, a person best known as the 6th President of the United States, was an advocate to end slavery in the states. Adams served his term as president from 1825-1829 and returned to Washington to continue his fight against slavery as a member of the House of Representatives in 1831.
Adams would take to the House floor to debate one issue, slavery. It did not matter what bill or resolution was up for debate, he would take his time to speak about ending slavery. Eventually, southern members of congress grew annoyed and flustered, this caused them to vote and pass the "gag rule" which prevented congress from hearing any anti-slavery petition. Essentially, congress outlawed it for Adams to speak on the House floor, but he continued to speak out against slavery talking to freshman members of congress about how slavery needed to end.
In 1847 Abraham Lincoln took his place in the House of Representatives and sat on the back bench of the House next to former President John Quincy Adams and they would discuss slavery. John Quincy Adams would die in 1848 thinking he did nothing in the fight against slavery, little did he know that years later a presidency of Abraham Lincoln would be defined by the abolishment of slavery.

Friendly Debate in Classrooms
College is a great experience for all. This morning as I was thinking what to write about today, our class broke into debate over the Supreme Court's hearing on the Healthcare Bill passed by Congress.
College is a place where you can openly debate and not feel threatened by other students. In a classroom environment where more times than not the professor is the moderator you hear different views on issues. When you leave the classroom one of two things has happened (1) your original view has been strengthened due to knowing the othersides beliefs or (2) you have become more sympathetic to a particular issue or situation.
For me the first one is usually the case, but it is always great to keep an open mind and never walk away or shut yourself out because you disagree with a persons view. At NMSU you can always count on a friendly environment to share your opinions.

Tools for Success
The first thing I heard about in the office today was about our upcoming New Student Registration. I reflected back on my NSR Day, I was nervous but excited, it was 90% excited and 10% scared, heck for all I know it could have been 90% scared 10% excited but that is what is so great about the unknowns.
In college you need a few things to be successful, for everyone else these are different. I will share with you what I believe are my keys to being successful in college and in my life:
Faith: I know college has a lot to do with personal drive and motivation, but for me I get a lot of inspiration and drive from the Lord.
Family: A supportive family is a great way to become successful in life and at any goal you have. With the motivation from family you set your mind to accomplishing tasks you would otherwise find difficult. I recall after my high school graduation a man I call Uncle Mike came up to me and said "Charles, if you come back from New Mexico State with anything short of a degree I am going to kick your butt." (Alright, maybe he didn't say butt, but this is a great job and I dont want to lose it.) I have never known Uncle Mike to be a liar, and I am not about to find out.
Freedom: I know what comes to mind when you hear the words "Freedom" and "College" put together in a sentence, but that is not how I am meaning it at this point in time. Freedom in college is to not be taken for granted or taken advantage of, you must learn how to manage your freedom and get your work done. If you slip up on managing this, your time at the university will be fun, but short.
Duty: This goes along with Freedom, you have a duty to get your classes and work done, you are here to have a good time, meet new people, and get a degree. Keep your eye on the prize as they say and get the degree you are seeking. Remember the main reason you came to college in the first place and you will be fine.

Spring Break!
Hello Readers!
It's the week of spring break woo hoo!! This week is about relaxing and enjoying 5 days off from classes, work and the grind. I will say this has been one weird break so far. Super wind, HAIL, freezing temperatures... strange things are a foot. Campus and Las Cruces are pretty dead.
Here in the office things are pretty slow. Most of us are out of the office enjoying the break. But for those of us in the office we want to know what everyone is up to. What are all the lovely readers doing this week? Email the Aggie Ambassadors at Aggies99@nmsu.edu and let us know what you are up to!

The REAL scoop on our very own Crimson Breakfast Club
I'll admit us ambassadors are quite a diverse group of individuals. There are eleven of us in total. And while my fellow ambassador mentioned us in a previous post, he definitely missed the target on our individual personalities. AND he also missed a handful of ambassadors, so here it goes Aggies, a better description on each of us.

Josie
- The foreigner he described is Filipino, is actually a smart and structured type of guy,
Albert. He has many stories to tell about his life and all the adventures he's experienced.
- The Jock definitely wants to be a Senator one day and probably will be
Charlesis the type of guy you want as one of your best guy friends. The protective southern gentleman, he will give you a very honest opinion.
- Our free spirit, is the girl who has the funniest stories and best outlook on life. You could probably picture her surfing in Australia but at the same time, she has a good head on her shoulders. An advocate for Relay for Life,
Kaylacan be passionate for the things she loves.
- Our firecracker
Jodiis an aspiring teacher who is often the leader of the gang. Standing a little over five feet she can put any size person in their place. But don’t let that fool you, she has a heart of gold.
- The cowgirl
Hannahis ready to get down and dirty, whether it be with her horses or just lifting boxes from the storage room. And although she may be as tough as a cookie, she is a thoughtful and sweet person who will take the time out of her day to make yours just a little bit better. Oh and she's bound to make you laugh and put a smile on your face.
- You can hear her laugh a mile away, and once you do, it’s infectious. In a dull moment she’s bound to make something interesting happen. You’ll never get bored being around
Jessica, who I consider the life of the party.
- I haven’t gotten a chance to be around
Eddie, but here it goes. He studied abroad for a semester and that alone says a lot about him. Independent yet free, he just lives life.
- The Pretty Brain is the girl who is organized to the T and on top of things.
Lydiawith her mile long eyelashes, may be about the books, but she has a sweet side to her. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever she is.
- Some people may see her as a “tree-hugger” because she cares so much about the environment and animals. But
Carleyis also very smart and put together. She would probably win “Most Likely to Succeed” in high school, because she’s the type of girl who will accomplish anything she puts her mind to.
- The comic-book, die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan is our very own
Kris. At times he can say the most absurd tings, but underneath his protective mask he is a kind and sweet person. If you are going through a crisis, he’s the most likely to sit down and wait til you figure whatever it is, out.
- And I’m what he calls, the “Beauty Queen.” In my defense, I do love all things beauty, but it’s not something that defines me. I’m an aspiring reporter and I love conversations, especially when they’re about people and their fascinating lives (which is why I like to talk, I guess.)

So Aggies, there you have it, a little description as to the different personalities that walk in and out of the admissions office. Our very own Crimson "Breakfast Club." We may all each be different, but together we make for one very interesting group. Our conversations are ones that get you thinking, challenge your viewpoints but leave you feeling amazed and grateful for the opportunity to be surrounded by such characters.
Your very own,

We all have dreams. We all dream of being something, somewhere, stuck in some time of our life passed or yet to be...
Usually when your in college you stay up late hours studying. When I stay up late to study, usually by the time I do finally knock-out , I really knock-out.I become immersed in some pretty deep sleep state where I find myself in some pretty crazy dreams
I have found myself stuck in a musical dream, where everybody on campus just always broke out in song & dance. You know like in Grease, It would be me and a girl singing to songs like Black Eyed Peas "Meet Me Halfway" or Rihanna's "We Found Love"
....."We found love in a hopeless place"....."Can you meet me halfway, right at the borderline?
...."That's where I'm gonna wait for you"....
While the students danced around us or sung out the chorus to our lyrical rhyme. We would break out in song walking down the I-Mall like a huge musical production.
I had another dream,Now in this dream. Charles, Albert & I were celebrating Albert's graduation
See, Albert's graduation was the next day. So we all decided to hang out and watch the Lakers vs Celtics game at his apartment on campus. We were chillin', when Albert brought out some new extreme herbal energy drinks his parents had sent from the Philippines (where he is from)
So we decided to make a toast to the future, and drank the energy drinks....
Flash forward to the next Morning, the day of Albert's graduation. I wake up on the floor of a hotel room without a memory of what had happened. I find Charles outside face down in the grass down on the first floor of the hotel complex
But No Albert!!...his father had told me the night before, "I am proud of my son, he is the first of my children to graduate from an American university, watch over him and make sure he makes it to his graduation on time"
When we searched the room all we found was Neil Patrick Harris in the hotel bed. We ask Neil, "What happened last night?" He explained that he was in town for the NMSU Graduation as a guest speaker and that last night was wait for it...Legendary!
With a few hours til Albert's graduation..what followed was ..Supposedly we flew out to L.A. with Neil Patrick Harris to watch the Lakers-Celtics game, then partied with Neil at his favorite clubs until Charles tried to hit on Kobe Bryant's girl. Then we basically got into a fight left Albert behind and were on the run from Bryant's entourage. We took Bryant's car, got into a car chase.
Turns out I had unknowingly stole one of Kobe Bryant's championship rings (because he had won it against my Celtics) . So he held Albert hostage until, I gave it back. Mayhem ensues ..
We get Albert & Meet up with Neil Patrick Harris at his private jet and fly back to Cruces with little time before Albert's graduation but we get him there in time.
We all celebrate again that night at Albert's apartment. We wake up again in the morning without any idea of what happened the following night.Albert goes missing again... mayhem ensues....
The End

The Crimson Breakfast Club (How I Met Everyone)
Where did I leave off? That’s right….
Kids in the Spring of 2012, Your father was attending New Mexico State University. At the time I was trying my best to stay afloat my first semester in Grad School,
At the same time I was serving as an NMSU Aggie Ambassador .I worked alongside a colorful bunch of processors, advisors & students in that office
Remember how I told you earlier about the time I was going to be a fire fighter before I pursued Journalism. How I proved to my superiors that I had what it takes when the cadets had to race each other to push a van across a park and back to the academy. In my team, my group gave up but your father never stopped pushing, never stopped running and pushed that van by himself for a while until I reached the finish line…
Well kids that couldn’t prepare me for what I had to endure in those offices. I could handle the parents and students on tours, that was easy. Your father had a way of entertaining his tours.
I’m talking about, my co-workers
Pushing a van with 210% of my strength was easy, but sitting down listening to chick talk gossip is harder to endure. Especially when Lydia, you know that pretty hazel-eyed brain I always talk about, she was smart but man did she drive your father nuts. She was hell bent on trying to get your father to drop the comic books and jump out a window.
She and especially that Country Girl I always forget her name. Oh yeah Hannah, I tell you with her there was always something up with her and a guy somewhere. Some guy from her past, some guy from her present, some guy she never met, some guy on an NFL team. Her and Jodi, who was a rebellious firecracker of a girl
Then there was Kayla, who was such a beautiful free spirit. She was pretty chill, different from the other girls. I could sit with her be myself and talk about music, you know how your father loves Led Zeppelin, and well she just got it and helped restore your father’s faith in women. Every time I hear Tiny Dancer I think of her
I don’t think I would have survived without your Uncle Charles. Kids before he was known as Senator Turner he was kind of a jock. We had some memorable nights in those days. Charles and Albert that Captain America Foreigner I talk about changed my life that semester.
See kids, People see us as they want to see us... In the simplest terms and the most convenient definitions.
But what we found out is that each one of us is a foreigner, a brain, a jock, a beauty queen, a geek, a teacher, a student. I learned that we had nothing in common, but each other...
Sincerely yours, The Crimson Breakfast Club.

The Crimson Breakfast Club
I'm here sitting, I'm here listening to classic 80's songs, I'm thinking about something a fellow coworker said to me earlier today....She said, "I saw you earlier today and you just passed me by"
The funny thing Is, as I thought about it, the pretty girl I had seen/checked out walking down the NMSU I-Mall was in fact the same Hazel-eyed beauty confronting me. I had mistaken her for someone else as I passed her by. I didn't mean to pass her by without waving at her. This all got me thinking...
I work in Admissions, I have been working as an Aggie Ambassador for a couple of semesters now. I work alongside other student work-studies in the office.
My fellow Ambassadors range in their ages; around 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24. Some are young freshman, some learning how to stay afloat the chaos of their classes, others are trying to fit in socially with the college scene & others are preparing to graduate and find out the next step in life.
When we met we were strangers with nothing in common, if you ever sit down and listen to the different conversations that go on while we work you will find out that each of us are different....
One of us a Foreigner, a Beauty Queen, a Country Girl, a Pretty Brain, a Free Spirit, a Jock, a Recluse, a Rebel, a Comic Book geek
Sometimes the conversations range from empty gossip to thought provoking banter. Sometimes you have the beauty queen who feels the need to say something to be with the in crowd, sometimes you have the jock with the aspirations to become a senator someday, the pretty brain who always works herself to go above and beyond and other times you can have a down to earth conversation with a free spirit who can help re-shape the way you see the world.
Sometimes we may not understand each other, sometimes the only times we see each other is when we are at work but hopefully we affect each other in some capacity that helps guide us to becoming something.
If your lucky you can make a connection....
Don't You Forget About Me
Don't Don't Don't Don't
Don't You Forget About Me
Will you stand above me?
Look my way, never love me
Will you recognize me?
Call my name or walk on by
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
Or will you walk away?
Hey, hey, hey, hey Ohhhh.....Don't You Forget About Me

Ready...Set...Go!
Have you ever just put off something that you know needs to get done? That has been me all week long, from not really studying for a quiz or taking my dress pants to the dry cleaner knowing I have an interview on Monday afternoon. Now I know that all through our lives we’re told do your homework ahead of time, so you don’t have to worry about it later, or get your chores done so you have more time to do other things. Well, many of us deal with the aspect of social networking that consumes our, oh so precious time. If you’re a college student like me who has moved away from many of the things you like to do or you don’t have enough money to go do those other things around town. I am definitely guilty of spending time on Facebook, Pinterest, or just checking random things on the internet getting nothing that I need to get done accomplished. It’s a sad truth of our times. So we as students do need to prioritize, though at times it can be hard to do we need to figure out what would be beneficial instead of just a way to “use” our time. So starting today I promise to start getting things done in a timely manner. Now I’m not saying I will get it done the night it’s assigned, but rather I will actually make an effort to do it earlier the night before. I will try to go do something other than sitting in my living room on the internet on my afternoons off. Many of you are probably thinking that, it probably won’t happen because we are all creatures of habit, but if you try to make an effort you never know what you will be able to accomplish. So like Nike says, Just Do It Aggies!

Be The First Hand On
Well, Hello Aggies, long time no blog from your dearest Aggie Girl. I was looking our weekly schedule for the ambassadors and just notice that I was supposed to be blogging since the beginning of the week…Therefore I apologize for my tardiness. As for today’s topic, I’ve been thinking about NMSU and how great of a college it is (I mean that goes without saying right?). One of the reasons I chose to come here for school is not only do they have the program I was interested in or that it was away from home, but because of how hands on they allow their students to be. If you follow our blog you know by now that I am an Animal Science major specializing in the horse industry. My classes have included the normal Biology 111, Econ 201, etcetera, but I’ve also had classes that have allowed me to train a horse, ultra-sound animals, and sale animals. These classes were all hands on, up-close and personal to doing things that I may come into contact with in the future. If you want to learn how to do something or actually be taught pertaining to real life situations this is probably THE Best campus to do so. Instead of sitting in a lecture hall for 2 hours trying to learn off of a powerpoint we actually get to be out on campus learning right there. This proves true for all of our majors on campus! Everyone has seen what cool things the Engineering department has their students doing, like actual surveying on pride field, the construction of a cement canoe to be raced (yes that is an actual project), or even the weeklong trip to a foreign country to help work on a bridge. It can’t get any better than that. So look around on campus and see what other majors have available or make sure to pay attention to what cool projects your department has going, because it is always better to learn hands on to apply it to life later on. In closing on today’s blog and keeping up with my normal pattern, I will leave you with a quote “He knows the water best who has waded through it.” Meaning you have to do in order to actually know. Have a great day Aggies!
-Always,
Aggie Girl Hannah

Where is the love?
As the dreaded holiday of Valentine's Day is approaching, all you hear is the complaints and nagging of those who do not have a special someone to spend the day with. The excuse of "Valentine's Day is not even a real holiday" or "This is just a holiday for girls" are two of the most common themes I have had to listen to for years now. So instead of looking at tomorrow as a reminder that you are alone, why don't you embrace the things you do have and pour your love into that....
None of us are dating the supermodel we wish we were or the Italian Hunk that is going to swoon us EVERYDAY, but that does not mean we are not surrounded by other people and things that love us! Our parents have unconditional love for us so why not show them some love in return and send them a beautiful gift. Or if you have a furry companion, why not take them for a long walk or get them a Delicious treat to show them how much they mean to you. There are many blessings in this world that do not just include having a significant other, so instead of burrowing yourself in blankets tomorrow and hiding from the world, show the world how much love you can give! When the world sees how much love you can have, someone is bound to fall in love with that.....

Time for a fresh start
Welcome Back Aggies!
It's the beginning of February and our new semester is really starting to get going. You may dread this semester for some reasons such as not getting enough sleep, not working out enough, not getting as good of grades as you could, etc. Well let me put this little idea into your head..Now's the perfect time for a fresh start. If there were things about last semester that didn't go the way you wanted, now's the time to address those issues and change them so you don't dread school again come next fall. So first thing is first:
1) Set your priorities. Make a list of things that need to get done, i.e. class, homework, extra studying, working out, extracurriculars and friends. Once your list is complete, prioritize each thing that needs to be done and complete it in the numerical ordering you put it in.
2) Time management. Limit activities that might lead to distractions from what you need to get done such as facebook and tv. With less distraction you have more time to get things on your list done and more time for sleep, working out, friends, and ensuring you are on top of yours classes.
I give you these tips because these are ones I am trying to adopt to on my own. Perhaps with a little bit of self-betterment we can all enjoy our semester a little more and find more accomplished in our day. Good luck Aggies!

Bad Habbits
It's seems to be the beginning of a great semester already, this being on time thing is AWESOME! See for some odd reason I had fallen into the horrible habit of being late >=/ and I will admit that it was not one of my favorite habits at all and of course I hated it! But simply hating it didn't make me change, it was wanting it that did. Initially I wanted to make it one of my new year's resolutions, but then I said.. wait a minute, I don't even make new year's resolutions?? Instead I make goals year round and make new ones every semester. So my number one most important goal this semester was and still is to be on time ALWAYS and EVERYWHERE even if it's just lunch with a friend! =)
My experience so far... I Love it! I run smooth and easy mornings, I get to class prepared and I have time left for emergencies... you know, there's always that dog that crosses your path right when you're running late or that red light that takes a day and a half to turn green! (OK maybe just 2 or 3 minutes) but that's how it feels don't it? Plus you get to class before the professor starts lecturing, and you get to pick your fav seat (I have favorite seats by the way) it's as if things calmly fall into place especially since you have a clear mind. Another plus, you get time to have a brief chat with friends you see on the way and well I could go on an on about how being on-time is sooooo important but I would never end this blog. It's one of those things that defines who you are, it say a lot about you and well, who doesn't want good things to be said about them right? So lesson of life: always be on-time (or before) ;) and make it a habit as well, one that you will never want to break! On an end note I hope you all have a wonderful semester and are as excited as I am about school! We have to get though it any way right?? Might as well make the best out of it and become enthusiastic about school as much as we can, after all, it's for our own good right! ;)
