A gift!

Hello there Aggies, welcome back! I hope you are all as excited about school as I am. Starting since about 5th grade (I wasn't a fan of the preschool years) up until this day, the first day of school has been a thrill! I love the anticipation of what's to come; new friends, new professors, new classes, oh and my favorite part, the smell of clean polished floors in every building. Not to mention the satisfaction to know that each semester is a step closer to see the light at the end of the tunnel (not that being in college is like being in a tunnel) but you know what I mean. Backtracking to my freshmen year, I'll be hones, for once as the first day of school got closer; I panicked because I knew it was going to be a challenge (boy! It was!) Surprisingly it's been four years since!  I have learned so much that if I could share every single thing with you I'd never finish this blog (lol) but I would however, like to motivate you all as you proceed with the semester with some of the little life lessons that I have learned and hope that will be useful to you too!

  1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
8. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
9. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
10. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
11. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
12. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
13. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
14. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
15. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'
16. Always choose life.
17. Forgive everyone everything.
18. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
19. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
20. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
21. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
22. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
23. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
24. The best is yet to come...
25. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
26. Yield.
27. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."
